THE BATTLE OF ANTIETAM
OR
“THE BATTLE WHERE WE DRANK THAT REALLY ‘BIG’ MERLOT”

MARYLAND – SEPTEMBER 17, 1862

After a delightful picnic lunch, Union General Ambrose Burnside’s army decided to cross Antietam Creek using a bridge, ironically, named after Burnside himself. When the attack failed, Burnside’s army retreated to their picnic site; there they found a giant rat eating a wedge of Canadian Black Diamond Cheddar they had left behind.
