IT WASN’T ALL CIVIL WAR ALL THE TIME

LIFE GOES ON
NEW YORK – JUNE 3, 1864
Despite the country’s penchant for this whole Civil War thing, other events were taking place. On the morning of June 3, 1864, the same band of drunken pirates that had swindled the chest of gold out of Robert E. Lee at Fort Jackson, sailed up the Hudson River and attacked the ‘Big Apple’, looking for girls and more rum.
