THE BATTLE OF PERRYVILLE
OR
THE BATTLE OF CHAPLIN HILLS

KENTUCKY – OCTOBER 8, 1862

Defeated by Rebel Army General Tony Braxton Bragg, a band of Union soldiers sought forgiveness for their poor performance. Making their way to the Abby of Our Lady of Gethsemane, they came upon a streak of baby white tigers separated from their mother. The Union soldiers felt sorry for the tigers, and gave them what little milk they had in their canteens.
