MISSOURI – AUGUST 10, 1861
On August 10th, General Robert E. Lee executed a flanking maneuver against the Union lines commanded by Brigadier General Nathaniel Lion, near Springfield, Missouri. As the Union soldiers retreated in disarray, they were decimated by the hungry and ferocious Wilson Creek crocodiles.
